Insika Rural Development Trust is based in Empangeni, a small farming town in the northern part of KwaZulu-Natal. It gives people the knowledge and practical tools to have confidence to farm and be self-reliant so they can afford nutritious food, medical bills and send their children to school. Most people in rural areas feel entitled to free services and grants, but Insika is working to reverse this mentality of entitlement through training and support. It is a partnership between Christians from different denominations, led by Revd Amos Ndebele.
E3 partnered with Insika for three years (2014-2016) to enable small-scale corn and chicken farmers to earn a living from their land.
