Fellowship of Believers

Fellowship of Believers International (FBI) is a network of 10 churches in the Eastern Cape, South Africa, who work together to bring spiritual and social transformation in their communities. FBI provides training in theology, church leadership, administration, family enrichment seminars and designing and running community projects to help churches respond to social challenges, including poverty, HIV, substance and drug abuse and teenage pregnancy.

E3’s partnership is:

  • Training 25 pastors and their partners in Gender-based Violence, HIV awareness and support, Back to School and church administration.

  • Supporting 22 orphaned and vulnerable children through Back to School with uniforms, Life Skills classes and extra support lessons in Maths and Science. A gender-based violence awareness programme reached 400 school children.

  • Providing equipment for 3 preschools so children can start their learning journey well.

  • Helping 5 families to start small businesses through a microfinance group.

  • Enabling 20 families to start poultry and agricultural activities to develop people’s skills and ability to earn an income and improve food security.

  • Providing meals to 500 community members, many of whom are living with HIV or high blood pressure and cannot take their medication on an empty stomach.

  • Running an awareness campaign against drug and substance abuse reaching 250 people.

  • Budget: £6,000
